Students Taking Action for Youth Unity
Purpose Statement: STAY-U is a drug-free group and promotes drug-free activities. The main focus of STAY-U is to coalesce and bring together the students, school, and community of David City. Another ambition of STAY-U is to promote youth voice and communication in activities and functions.
Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is a week long celebration to promote drug awareness in schools and communities. Red Ribbon Week was inspired by the work of Drug Enforcement Agent Enrique Camerena who was kidnapped and killed by drug traffickers in 1985. Mr. Camarena was working as an undercover agent in Mexico. In 1988, Congress officially proclaimed the last week of October as Red Ribbon Week.
