Kindergarten

We are happy to welcome Mason Bruggeman to
Mrs. Veskrna's class. We are also happy that Mrs. Brezina is
helping out in Mrs. Svoboda's class until she has her baby and
comes back to school.
The Kindergartners continue to work very hard in Reading Groups.
They are segmenting and blending words and beginning to read and
spell simple words. We are currently reviewing the sounds of all
the letters and matching capital letters to the lowercase ones.
They are even beginning to write simple sentences and read them by
themselves.
In Math we have been talking about symmetry, patterns, and naming
coins. It is a lot of fun playing card games in Math such as Top It
and Go Fish. Each time we write numbers we make it a little
farther. We have a few Kindergartners that have gotten to 100. The
more we practice the easier it gets.
In Social Studies we have been talking about transportation and
ways we think it would be fun to tracel. We realized that
everywhere we go in the school, on the roads, and in the stores we
see signs. These signs can give us information and help us to get
what we need.
For Thanksgiving we had several activities that both classes did
together. We ate A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, made headbands, and
made necklaces out of macaroni. It is so much fun to celebrate the
holidays together. We plan to do the same at Christmas.
