Selection Guidelines

NHS SELECTION GUIDELINES

SCHOLARSHIP:
1.   The student has a cumulative GPA of 91.5%.
2.   The student challenges his/her intellect by enrolling in upper level courses.
LEADERSHIP:
1.   The student exhibits a leadership role in the classroom, school activities, and/or community.
2.   The student exhibits dependability in any responsibilities accepted or appointed.
3.   When accepting a leadership role, the student carries it out without constant reminders.
4.   The student demonstrates qualities and/or attitudes which constructively influence others.
5.   The student is a positive example that inspires others.
CHARACTER:
1.   The student promptly meets obligations and responsibilities to school, teachers, and community.
 2.   The student demonstrates the highest standards of honesty and reliability, and upholds principles of morality and ethics.
 3.   The student demonstrates cheerfulness, friendliness, neatness, poise, and stability.
 4.   The student makes every attempt to comply with school regulations.
 5.   The student regularly shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others.
 6.   The student helps rid the school of bad influences or environment.
SERVICE:
1.   The student is a member and actively participates in a variety of curricular and extracurricular activities.
2.  The student places service to school and to others above self-interest.
3.   The student willingly and conscientiously carries out committee assignments and/or work for the sponsor or teacher.
